The purpose of Engineering Technology and Industrial Studies is to prepare students for a broad range of technical and industrial management positions. This is accomplished through nationally accredited programs, a project-based learning environment, and extensive collaboration with industry.
The department offers Bachelor of Science degrees in Concrete Industry Management, Construction Management Technology, Engineering Technology, Environmental Science and Technology, and Industrial Technology.
The Occupational Health and Safety Program at MTSU is a generalist program. It is not designed to be either a pure Safety or Industrial Hygiene program but is a blend of both with a minor amount of Environmental.
Safety is an applied discipline and academic courses can only take you part of the way to the goal of being a Safety, Health, and Environmental professional.
Life long learning on the job, professional organizations, short courses, professional conferences and professional interaction must be practiced as well.
