As a safety management technician, you will help protect people, property and the environment from some of the hazards that fill today's workplace. You will use the latest standards and techniques to develop safety programs, perform inspections and conduct occupational health monitoring. You will work with industrial hygienists, fire protection specialists, and regulatory enforcement officials in a team approach to creating a safer work environment.
You will learn:
- Fire prevention and inspection principles
- Teaching methods as they relate to safety training seminars
- A working knowledge of various codes and ordinances including OSHA regulations, fire protection, life safety and building codes
- Loss control measures including the detection and correction of unsafe acts
- To prevent and control health threatening factors in the workplace
- Additional knowledge, skills and abilities essential to your success on the job
