The School of Public Health promotes the health of communities through an integrated program of education, research, service and practice. As a national authority on public health, the School emphasizes the connection between health and human rights.
The mission of the Department of Environmental and Occupational Health (EOH) is, through research, education, and service, to prevent adverse health effects related to environmental and occupational exposures. These activities are carried out in the context of the School's focus on communities, social justice, and human rights. The central theme of the Department's activities is prevention, focusing on initiatives which will ultimately decrease, in a measurable way, the burden of environmental and occupational health effects, with a particular focus on disadvantaged populations in the Delaware Valley.
