Medical College of Ohio at The University of Toledo


The Department of Public Health & Homeland Security offers a Master of Science in Occupational Health (MSOH) degree and Certificate in Occupational Health (COH) program in Industrial Hygiene (IH). In addition, a Master of Public Health (MPH) degree is offered as part of the Northwest Ohio Consortium for Public Health, with majors in Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety Sciences, Health Promotion and Education, Public Health Administration, Public Health Epidemiology, and Public Health Nutrition.


The mission of the Department of Public Health & Homeland Security in the College of Medicine at the University of Toledo is to provide education, conduct research, and render service to improve and maintain the quality of life of the public by emphasizing prevention and remediation of illness and injury and promotion of healthy and safe environmental and occupational settings.
 

The MSOH - IH program is accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering

and Technology - Applied Science Accreditation Commission. (ABET ASAC), ABET Inc., Baltimore, MD, 21202. In addition, the program is recognized as a CDC/NIOSH Training Program and has received a grant as part of the Healthy People 2010 initiative. Through this grant, a few scholarships are available to new students.
