The Department of Environmental Health Sciences strives to equip students with the knowledge and skills to accomplish the following:
Apply scientific principles in toxicology, industrial hygiene, policy, and oncology to prevent, detect and mitigate environmental public health problems and threats locally and globally
Conduct research for innovative solutions to environmental health issues
Investigate and monitor environmental hazards and community health status
The Master of Public Health and Master of Health Administration degree students achieve practice integration through the completion of residencies or practica in academic medical centers, community hospitals, physician practices, long-term care facilities, managed care organizations, consulting groups, non-governmental organizations, and public health agencies.
