Environmental Resource Management is an interdisciplinary major that includes coursework in the areas of physical and life sciences related to natural resource use, the legal aspects of resource ownership and use, and the economic and political aspects of resource allocation and environmental protection. The program also includes basic skills courses in areas such as communications, computers, statistics, and management.
The ERM major is of sufficient breadth to prepare graduates for entry into a wide range of careers relating to the use, management, and protection of environmental assets. These careers are in areas such as resource analysis and planning, environmental health, compliance, technical and environmental staff support, permitting, and real estate development
The online ERM program is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and articulates with community college Environmental Technology programs developed under the Partnership for Environmental Technology Education (PETE) umbrella. Students who have 60 lower-division semester units can complete the degree on-line through Web-based courses. For students who already have a Bachelor degree, selected on-line courses may be completed for post-baccalaureate certificate in Environmental Management.
