The Environmental Engineering program in the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering (CEE) is accredited by the Engineering Accreditation Commission of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET).

Baccalaureate graduates of engineering and science programs with focused interests in environmental science and engineering of air, land and water systems are encouraged to apply. Science applicants should have a well-founded background in atmospheric-sciences, biology, chemistry, geology, physics, or another science. A minimum of two (2) semesters of calculus is required. Applicants with science undergraduate degrees can pursue thesis, research-report or all-coursework options for the MS degree. Engineering applicants should have an accredited degree in an engineering discipline. Masters applicants with an engineering degree can pursue thesis or research-report options for the MSEnvE degree, as well as thesis, research-report, or all-coursework options for the MS and MSCE degrees.

Applicants interested in the Distance Learning option for masters degrees must submit a full set of application materials to the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering.

For Distance Learning applicants, admission to the Environmental Engineering program is focused primarily on the Registered Graduate Option (RGO) and on those students in pursuit of the MS, MSCE or MSEnvE degrees. Applicant review is based on all aspects of past performance, capabilities and credentials. Applicants must meet a minimum requirement of a 3.0 grade point average or higher in an undergraduate curriculum and meet the current GRE requirements.
