The environmental studies major is designed to prepare students for employment or further study in fields such as environmental law, environmental policy, and resource management. Completion of the requirements will lead to a Bachelor of Arts degree.
The interdisciplinary approach includes courses across the curriculum, including biology, chemistry, mathematics, economics and humanities courses. Three new courses will be added to the curriculum specifically for the new major, including a Senior Seminar in Environmental Studies, which will serve as the capstone experience for the major. It will consist of a semester-long project designed and carried out by the student.
