Texas Tech University

Texas Tech University is one of the state’s four major, comprehensive universities and academically, the most diverse. The University and the Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center share a 1,800 acre campus in Lubbock. Approximately 225,000 people live in the metropolitan area. At a 3,200 foot altitude, summers are warm and breezy, winters are mild. The sun shines approximately 260 days per year. Spanish renaissance architecture, with red tile roofs and buff brick, is the hallmark of the well-landscaped campus. The University has seven colleges, a Graduate School, and a School of Law. The Health Sciences Center has Schools of Medicine, Nursing, and Allied Health. Student enrollment is approximately 30,000.
