Job Description
The Market Unit Safety Manager contributes to The Pepsi Bottling Group’s success through ensuring regulatory compliance and accident prevention. This person is responsible for leading the safety agenda, throughout a specific territory, by supporting the Senior Management team with integration of prevention, safety and regulatory compliance into everyday work life. The Market Unit Safety Manager has responsibility to analyze accident data, develop and implement actionable safety solutions. The ideal candidate is a subject matter expert in Safety and can clearly articulate actionable plans.

Major Tasks, Key Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities:

  • Implement, execute, ensure compliance with The Pepsi Bottling Group Safety polices and procedures
  • Track, forecast and manage Worker’s Compensation costs Experience dealing with OSHA and DOT regulations
  • Manage local Safety budget
  • Lead the development of the Safety Annual Operating Plans and Safety Action Plans for the Market Unit
  • Achieve annual targets for Accident Severity and Accident Frequency Rates
  • Ensure compliance with applicable Health and Safety legislation, regulations and standards
  • Develop, implement, execute, and manage strategies to prevent workplace injuries and vehicle accidents
  • Demonstrate solid employee relations experience, interpersonal and verbal/written communication skills
  • Display strong problem solving, organizational and analytical skills
  • Demonstrate professional maturity and ability to act as a change leader

Basic Job Qualifications::

  • Bachelors Degree
  • A minimum of 5 years of work experience in the Health and Safety industry

Preferred Job Qualifications:

  • Safety experience in a related industry, including consumer packaged goods, distribution/transportation, manufacturing or grocery industry
