The Opportunity - RMT, Inc. is one of the leading environmental and engineering consulting firms in the country. We have been helping our clients solve their most difficult and diverse engineering and environmental challenges for over 30 years. With over 700 employees in sixteen offices in the United States and two international locations, we currently have an opportunity for a Process Safety Management Professional in our Columbus office.
The Position - This candidate will be the lead consultant on process safety and risk management projects involving audits, hazard assessments, facility siting, process hazard analyses, and prevention program implementation. They will interface with project clients to identify and secure additional work activities (seller-doer). Primary clients will be in the pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
Requirements:
-Qualified candidates will have a BS degree in engineering; chemical engineering degree is preferred.
-PE or CSP certification preferred.
-8-10 years of previous work in consulting or staff EHS/engineering related experience with industry.
-Pharmaceutical or chemical process experience is a plus.
-Ability to recognize risk factors associated with high hazard chemicals is required.
-Understanding of business continuity planning is a plus.
-Candidate should possess excellent communication and writing skills with strong attention to detail.
-Must have a valid driver’s license and be capable of performing site visits.
-Must be willing to become 40-hour health and safety trained.
Physical Demands - Must be able to travel 50% of the time. Must be able to use automobile and plane transportation. Will be required to work on client sites such as industrial plants, hazardous waste sites, etc., that require walking and some climbing.
