Job Description

Resolution Copper located three miles from Superior, AZ is seeking an Occupational Health & Safety Superintendent to establish and implement health and safety policies with other Area Superintendents while developing methods for identifying hazards. This role will also conduct quarterly health monitoring programs to evaluate potential risks within the working environment.

Additional responsibilities include:*Advise on process modifications to ensure consideration of potential health hazards during planning, development, and installation of facilities*Implement work practices and engineering controls to reduce and maintain employee exposures to within permissible limits for heat, gases, dusts and fumes*Develop educational and training material and conduct specialized training programs*Establish and maintain the RCM Respiratory Protection Program*Develop & Oversee all projects/activities in the annual Industrial Hygiene Action Plan*Establish, promote, and maintain programs for heat stress, ergonomics and noise reduction*Coordinate and accompany all Federal and State Inspections with regard to employee health and safety*Conduct surveys, studies, and audits to identify conditions affecting compliance with Federal Regulations concerning employee health and safety*Comply, analyze, and interpret statistical data with regards to employee exposure and biological data, then prepare reports to communicate this information and implement training for employees*Advise facility management concerning status and control of occupational health issues*Evaluate health & safety risks associated with chemicals used at the facilities and manage a chemical hazard awareness system (MSDS)*Review and interpret literature pertaining to regulatory affairs*Coordinate with contractors on IH compliance issues and regulated work plans JOB REQUIREMENTS: Qualifications:*Bachelors Degree in Industrial Hygiene/engineering discipline*3-5 years progressive experience*Knowledge of 29 CFR and NIOSH Analytical Methods of air sampling, ergonomics, heat stress, noise reduction, PPE evaluations Rio Tinto's success depends on talented, motivated professionals.
