Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor

United States Compliance Corporation (U.S. Compliance), a leading professional services firm for environmental, health & safety compliance, has been working with industry nationwide to assist clients in addressing both routine and complex compliance issues involving national, state and local regulations.

U.S. Compliance is expanding throughout the United States, and as a result is currently seeking candidates for our Environmental, Health & Safety Advisor positions. U.S. Compliance has offices in Minneapolis, Minnesota (corporate), Chicago, Illinois, Somerset, New Jersey, Los Angeles, California and Atlanta, Georgia. Bilingual candidates are considered for both the Chicago and East Coast markets.

Primary responsibilities of the EHS Advisor position include assisting manufacturing clients with OSHA and EPA compliance. Specific job duties include performing compliance audits/site assessments, developing facility safety and health programs, conducting employee safety and environmental training, and directing Safety Committee and Emergency Response Team meetings. Other responsibilities include conducting plant inspections, pre-phase I audits, exterior facility inspections, storm water pollution prevention plans, hazardous waste assessments and training, initial SARA analyses, and air quality reviews, as well as completing various research projects.

One of the main goals of U.S. Compliance is to reduce the frequency and severity of accidents and injuries at our client’s facilities by implementing and/or maintaining strong safety and environmental programs and conducting proactive employee training sessions.

U.S. Compliance is a nationwide firm with clients located throughout North America; hence overnight travel is a required part of the Advisor position. Advisors travel locally on a daily basis and typically travel outside of the state five to ten days per month. Applicants must have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree in safety management, environmental health, or other related science discipline with a working knowledge of 29 CFR 1910 and other OSHA regulations. Desired applicant would have previous experience in the development and implementation of safety programs along with experience delivering training programs for manufacturing personnel. Applicant must possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal along with the ability to make effective presentations. Although not required, candidates with bilingual/Spanish skills are preferred. Must be willing to travel, as overnight travel is a requirement of this position. Applicant must have a strong enthusiasm for the field of environmental health and safety.
