Our client, a stable international company, has an immediate need for an Environmental, Health & Safety Manager at one of their manufacturing plants in South Dakota. This position will have a focus on managing safety and health systems as well as loss control to include medical, workers compensation and emergency response. Specific responsibilities will include: directing health and safety training processes; implement proactive risk assessment and behavioral safety systems to reduce fatality and injury potential; ensure that adequate safety and health controls are designed and operating on new and existing equipment; promote continuous awareness of safety and health requirements to drive safe behavior of employees while production, quality and cost objectives are maintained; manage onsite staff; develop and monitor budgets for the department.

We are looking for candidates with the following skills and knowledge: • At least 5-7 years of hands-on safety experience out of plant manufacturing • Solid experience in reducing accidents, implementing a pro-active safety culture, managing workers compensation, emergency response and conducting training • Must be comfortable overseeing environmental management systems • Comfortable in living in a rural area
