Excel at this client who is continuously working to further improve and grow their business and preparing for the changes of a demanding environment. Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager Duties:
The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager reports to the Plant Manager.
Responsible for the planning, directing and managing all EHS systems and programs ensuring compliance with all company standards and with federal and state regulatory requirements.
With the help of the Site EHS Coordinator manage and conduct all health and safety training for this facility.
Develop strategic improvement plans for facility safety, health, environmental and security initiatives that include the QA/QC laboratories, offices, machine halls, blending facilities and warehouses.
Perform the reviews of new regulatory developments to ensure continued compliance.
Provide supervision to department and security personnel.
Manage Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) department budget.
Guide the implementation of the site Behavior Based Safety program.
Employees occupational health, working with the external health provider.
Assess the plants EHS systems to ensure compliance with regulatory and company standards.
Facilitate the Safety Committee and EHS Council meetings.
Developed and implemented security programs and controls.
Provide leadership to ensure facility compliance with OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM) program and EPA Risk Management Program (RMP).
Provide professional EHS advice to both senior EHS management on a corporate level, and to Site management, supervisors and employees.
Provide oversight and assistance in managing worker compensation claims and costs.
Manage construction and maintenance contractors health and safety programs.
Oversee the environmental compliance issues such as hazardous waste management, Title 5 reporting, Waste Water Reporting, SARA 312/313, Toxic Substance Control Act (TSCA).
Coordination and follow up on the Industrial Hygiene programs and monitoring.
Prepare and issue regular site safety reports and all regulatory reports/statistics.
Manage and act as key contact for site emergency response and evacuation plans.
Provide leadership in incident investigations and identifying trends through statistical analysis of incidents.
Lead on-site emergency preparedness and response teams.
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
Bachelors degree from four-year college or university in Chemical, Safety, Environmental Engineering or related technical field.
Minimum of 2 years experience in a safety role in a chemical manufacturing environment.
Minimum of 2 years experience as an Environmental Health and Safety specialist.
Minimum of 2 years experience and knowledge of EHS regulations (OSHA, EPA, DOT, etc.).
Minimum of 2 years experience assisting or guiding the implementation of a site Behavior Based Safety program working on the floor with the people.
Minimum of 2 years experience being able to influence people with through strong interpersonal and networking skills.
Minimum of 2 years experience demonstrating your written and verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
Minimum of 2 years experience with a proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, Explorer.
