This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop new and creative programs, which drive year over year improvements in safety and ergonomics.
Act as a mentor, teacher and change agent to assist the organization in its growth of environmental responsibility, safety and value system.
Create Business Plan to implement EH&S programs.
Develop, implement and monitor programs that maintain Lennox environmental standards.
Work with Corporate EH&S personnel and insurance carrier on all workers compensation related issues and injuries with appropriate follow up on medical treatment related to those injuries.
Ensure that the manufacturing facility is in compliance with all Federal, State and local HSE laws and regulations.
Manage and maintain all record keeping procedures for all EPA/OSHA required documentation.
Develop new and creative methods to drive continuous improvement of HSE practices. Establish and direct safety, environmental and security initiatives, programs and policies that maintain and improve the protection of facility environments and the health and safety of all employees, contractors, visitors or guests. Provide leadership to appropriate facility Safety Teams to promote employee awareness and compliance. Conduct periodic facility safety/ environmental audits. Collect, trend and analyze company accident and injury reports to make recommendation for improvement. Follow up on accidents and injuries to ensure proper submittal of appropriate documentation. Publish Safety Newsletter and other communication vehicles as needed. Ensure the physical security of employees, contractors, visitors or guests, facility property, product and equipment. Maintain appropriate relationships with state and local fire, EMS, safety and environmental groups & organizations.
Requirements Minimum of BS/BA degree in Occupational Safety and Health or equivalent and five plus years of increasing and pro-active responsibility for environmental, health and safety in a fast-paced industrial setting. Certified Safety Professional (CSM) certification and/or associate in risk management (ARM) certification a plus. Certified Environmental Manager (CEM) also a plus.
Strong knowledge of Federal, State and Local environmental and safety regulations and their impact/application pertaining to the responsibilities of this position and a thorough working knowledge of OSHA 1910 General Industry Standards, and applicable sections of 40 CFR, 49 CFR, and Arkansas General Statutes
Knowledge of workers' compensation law, safety, and occupational health, OSHA, and FAA drug program requirements is required
Proven track record as an effective change agent required bringing about positive change by using influential power (vs. organizational authority).
Must be computer literate and have proficient knowledge relative to Microsoft Word, Excel and Project. Experience with MS Outlook, Access and SAP a plus. Strong verbal and written skills to effectively communicate with internal and external customers required. Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
Ability to work flexible hours with little or no advance notice required. Self-discipline and an ability to perform all required tasks with a minimum of direct supervision required. Supervisory experience preferred.
