The successful candidate will develop, evaluate and maintain effective plant policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all corporate and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities: • Leads all facility environmental activities including scheduling, tracking, reporting, planning, sampling, and regulatory permitting for environmental assessments, and investigations to ensure corporate and regulatory compliance. • Performs safety related administrative tasks, to include compliant program recordkeeping, equipment procurement • Worker's Compensation case management, and responding to inquiries. • Conducts routine audits and inspections of environmental procedures and controls. • Recommends and implement appropriate corrective actions to maintain safety and effectiveness. • Enforces, audits, creates and modifies all plant health/safety activities including Safe Operating Procedure, Hazard Communication, Lockout/Tagout and JSA's. • Builds and maintains effective relationships with regulatory agencies.
REQUIREMENTS: • BS degree in safety, industrial hygiene, or environmental related discipline required. • Minimum of 5+ years of related EH&S experience. • Certification preferred (CIH, CSP, and/or CHP). • Knowledge of TCQ (Texas Standards) preferred. • Knowledge of Process Safety Management, Title V, NPDES and Storm Water Pollution Programs, Hazardous Waste Management. • Strong analytical and communication skills. • Demonstrated computer literacy with knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software. • Strong interpersonal skills. • Must be able to work and be available on call flexible hours, before or after normal business hours. • Must be able to work at other locations and overnight travel.
