Job Description
Recognized leader in the environmental consulting industry, offering diverse services for environmental management systems, merger and acquisition due diligence, environmental health and safety regulatory compliance, and air quality compliance projects from 140 offices worldwide, including 55 US office locations.
Our client seeks a National Health & Safety Leader to coordinate and enable the consistency of Health & Safety across the North America Region. A key responsibility of the NA H&S Lead will be to ensure Health & Safety compliance with applicable regulations and existing company standards.
Some responsibilities include:
- Introduction and integration of behavior-based safety philosophies and management systems in North America and the world through collaboration with the Global Director of Health & Safety and peer safety leaders in other regions such as: Europe, Middle East/Africa, Latin America/the Caribbean and Asia Pacific; - Pro-actively drive the Health & Safety program forward and be an agent of change; - Partner with the North American Executive Management Team to identify and prioritize needs within the business and ensure alignment and integration of global tools and programs including those currently promulgated and those to be developed and implemented; - Lead an efficient and effective Regional Health & Safety team (including regional Health & Safety Coordinators and Partners) to ensure that Health & Safety issues are properly managed; - Collaborate with the Global Health & Safety Director and other global / inter-Region safety teams to develop, implement and sustain the system initiatives; - Coordinate with other Regional Safety Leaders to ensure consistency in safety management across the company; - Assist in on-site investigation and root cause analysis of the most significant Incidents or Near Misses, and - Serve as focal point for receipt and regional distribution and decision-making on regional and global safety alerts.
Requirements:
- MS in Environmental Health & Safety or applicable degree; - 10+ years of experience in an Environmental Health & Safety Management role; - Tangible experience in designing, implementing and managing safety programs; - Superior interpersonal & influencing skills, being able to work with various groups of stakeholders to ensure adoption of and consistency with company systems, and - Excellent written and verbal skills.
