Job Description
The Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Administrator will provide support across the facility to maintain a culture of EHS high performance including safety, environmental control and employee health and well being. The majority of this individual's time will be spent in the facility working directly with employees to facilitate improvements and performing auditing tasks to meet regulatory requirements. This position reports to the Facility Superintendent, Crush Supr, Lab Manager and Refinery Supt with accountability lines to the regional EHS coordinator and Des Moines office manager.

Principal Accountabilities:

Environmental

Ensure documentation and testing is completed and submitted per plan for: Title V permit Waste water Storm water Tier I, II, III, Form R Nuclear monthly inspections Groundwater annual well testing Review and update the following plans for correctness and applicability SWPPP FRP SPCC Nuclear Licensing Ensure and maintain hazardous waste process Maintain certifications Train/update employees responsible for handling hazardous wastes Track compliance with waste handler, disposal, clay disposal Maximize efficiency on waste water and general waste minimization Facilitate waste water improvements with all areas Facilitate water reduction plans with all areas Facilitate solid waste handling and reduction Monitor energy usage and file reports for corporate tracking Daily Production report on energy usage, splits, meters Energy usage Greenhouse gas production Carbon tracking Maintain documentation file for all areas as covered in our corporate environmental audit Facilitate communications with local and regional enforcement agencies and Des Moines POTW personnel Coordinate all excursion or NOV investigations and corrective action planning Coordinate required reporting/permitting with Thompson Environmental Consultants Coordinate inspections, documentation, weed and pest control with PrestoX Coordinate Boiler and Cooling Tower chem usage, bi- monthly reports and documentation from Crown Water Treatment

Safety Coordinate training for employees to meet corporate and OSHA requirements, through both direct training and qualified managers as necessary New employee orientation and safety training Existing employee update training Transferred employee focus training Monthly employee required Safety and EHS training meetings & requirements Participate in proactive safety processes to promote collaboration between the various business units on the site BBS Team Safety Committee JSA/SOP development Hazard Analysis SafeStart Fire Department inspections, licensing Maintain OSHA 30 hour certification for industrial and construction processes Ensure all aspects of PSM program are covered basis corporate requirements including audits Complete site inspections on routine basis for safe working conditions Post updated corporate EHS policy in all required locations annually Maintain EHS task database - which includes maintaining up to date key actions for agency requirements (for all permits, plans and registrations) - and ensure that tasks are being completed Maintain documentation file for all areas as covered in our corporate safety audit Ensure all contractor safety requirements are maintained on annual basis per the corporate requirements including safety indoctrination Coordinate annual hearing testing and complete follow-up if needed Attend safety incident investigations and corrective action planning Maintain Safety and EHS Plant Calendar for plant inspections Manlift inspections monthly, quarterly Asbestos quarterly inspections, repair and maintenance, viability and program Maintain and coordinate Winter Gear and Safety Shoe program Maintain and coordinate EyeGlasses, Safety Eyewear Program Maintain OSHA reporting, logs, incident, accidents filing, paperwork, WorkComp Coordinator Maintain and coordinate Safety Supplies, Zee Medical Cabinets, all safety gear Coordinate annual flu shots program

BU Energy Reporting Monitor energy usage and file reports monthly, quarterly, annually for BU / Oilseeds plants: GOSCNA/ DSONA for corporate tracking Energy usage Greenhouse gas production Carbon tracking Coordinate w/ Oilseeds EHS and Corp EHS on energy, water, steam, waste water Resource Efficiency reporting and reports, record keeping

Relocation will not be provided for this position.

Required:

High School diploma or GED Minimum of 3 years manufacturing experience or 2-4 yr technical degree Practical understanding of EHS policy and law OSHA safety requirements Demonstrated high level of safe behaviors Demonstrated effective facilitation skills Demonstrated effective communication skills Demonstrated effective computer skills Physical ability to perform site inspections including walking, climbing, lifting
