Job Description
Major Responsibilities and Duties will include:
Development and review of safety policies and procedures Assist line management and union safety representatives Incident Investigation and root cause analysis Conduct new employee safety orientation Assist in the development of training programs Assist in short and long term safety program strategic planning Conduct Safety Program audits Provide ergonomic assessments and support Actively engage and coach unionized hourly and salaried personnel on safety related items Work in coordination with Union Safety Representatives Conduct Safety training classes as needed Follow-up on Corrective Actions and Hazard Log items Collaborate with peers, line workers and management . Minimum Requirements
Bachelor's degree in the occupational, health and safety area or technical degree; 4+ years of experience in the health and safety field with demonstrated results; Experience with ergonomics tools and implementation; Demonstrated expertise with State/Federal regulatory agencies; Working knowledge of OSHA or State variation (both code and agency structure); Understanding of National Electrical Code (NEC); Familiarity with associated health and safety regulations and standards (ANSI, ASME, CMA etc.); Demonstrated ability to develop procedures to establish a safe work environment; Demonstrated ability to recognize potential hazards in processes, materials, equipment, and facilities; Proven history of effectively balancing operating requirements and safety controls; Demonstrated ability to develop and execute corrective action plans; Demonstrated ability and interest in presenting safety information; Proven problem solving skills;
Preferred Additional Skills and Experiences
Heavy industry/manufacturing preferred within a Union represented facility; Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma;
