Job Description
Travel Required: Negotiable Experience: 5 yrs Refinery or 10 yrs related industry ROLE SYNOPSIS: The Senior Industrial Hygienist will play a key role in providing safety and health technical support for the organization. This position interacts with all levels of employees, as well as contract personnel, government agencies and other safety representatives throughout the company. This position will be responsible for compliance with all federal and state safety and health regulations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES: Anticipates, recognizes, evaluates and controls chemical, biological and physical health hazards within the facility. Oversees the Industrial Hygiene (IH) programs and provides mentoring and technical support to internal clients. Prepares, coordinates and executes employee exposure monitoring during routine, turnaround (TAR) and unusual work activities. Provides IH support during the planning and execution of TAR and capital projects. Serves as the HSSE department representative regarding asbestos compliance activities in conjunction with the site maintenance organization. Submits SARA 311/312 reports such as chemical inventory reports. Serves as the technical resource for the site office ergonomics program. Conducts/coordinates air monitoring during site emergencies, including the reporting of results and integration with the site management team and monitoring contractors. Leads and/or participates in incident investigations, identifies opportunities for improvement and drives corrective action. Leads multidisciplinary teams to develop/revise IH-related policies and procedures. Assists the training department with development of safety and health-related training programs, as well as coordinates the site hazard communication program. Researches/evaluates personal protective equipment (PPE) and IH-related instrumentation equipment and coordinates implementation of changes in PPE, equipment or safety/health procedures. Interacts with external regulatory agencies and auditors Essential criteria & qualifications To be considered for the role of Senior Industrial Hygienist applicants must have: Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer. A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in IH, Public Health, Safety or related discipline. A minimum of 5 years of IH experience in a refinery/petrochemical plant or a minimum of 10 years of related experience in other manufacturing industries. Basic computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. The ability to relate to staff at all levels in a diverse and multicultural environment. Strong organizational skills. The ability to work under pressure to agreed deadlines

DESIRABLE CRITERIA: Master's Degree in IH, Public Safety or related discipline. A Certified Industrial Hygienist credential. Experience submitting SARA 311/312 reports.
