Environmental Health and Safety Manager - Engergis Location: Dundee, Michigan
Position Responsibilities (key duties, scope of position, goals, expectations, skill requirements, travel requirements):
-Provide leadership to the Energis organization in the enhancement and development of the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS)Management programs, carefully ensuring alignment with Holcim policies and management systems and their systematic application to the waste industry sector. - Ensure all aspects of the Energis business are compliant with the applicable State, Federal and Internal Standards for Environmental, Health and Safety regulations and standards. - Provide professional leadership to all functional Energis EHS specialists, Energis personnel, and Holcim US Environmental Managers with support and professional counsel in the interpretation of regulations applicable to the waste industry. -Proactively work with Energis Team and Holcim US Team to work through environmental and safety challenges, paving the way for reputable progress and growth. - Act as the primary and national contact for all applicable Environmental, Health and Safety Regulatory Agencies. -Support the approval and acceptance process in evaluating potential waste streams, and provide recommendations. -Provide leadership in defining Environmental, Health, Safety and Operational training requirements for all operations across Energis, ensuring all operational personnel are qualified, and the appropriate operating procedures are applied to handle the waste streams in a safe and environmentally compliant manner. - Investigate all injuries, near misses and safety concerns that occur throughout Energis. - Develop a proactive and high involvement approach to the Energis Health, Safety and Environmental programs. - Provide oversight and direction on new and existing permitting actions - Ensure understanding and ensure compliance of ISO Management Systems within the Energis Business - Act as the Emergency Contact for Environmental and Safety Matters - Develop an internal strategy for waste management to demonstrate environmental stewardship ("walk the talk") to our internal stakeholders and external customers
Educational Criteria:
B.S. degree preferred Either safety or environmental management or associated scientific discipline Position Dimensions(communication skills, planning, teamwork, technical knowledge, leadership, initiative):

Other Related Experiences Required or Preferred:
- Minimum of 5 years experience in waste industry is required and includes experience in a position that is responsible for ensuring environmental and safety regulatory compliance. - Working knowledge of the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA), Clean Air Act, SARA (Superfund Amendments and Reauthorization Act), Pollution Control Act, Portland Cement Maximum Achievable Control Technology (PC MACT), Toxic Substance and Control Act (TSCA), and Prevention of Significant Deterioration (PSD) regulation is required. - Working knowledge of occupational health, safety and industrial hygiene techniques. - Experience in hazardous and solid waste training, Hazard Materials Transportation Safe (HMTS) training, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and knowledge of the Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) regulations is preferred. - Experience in record keeping & reporting, waste characterization, facility inspections, and waste stream approvals are preferred. - Knowledge of the cement manufacturing process and how Energis relates to providing service to manufacturing is preferred. - Working knowledge of OSHA´s Process Safety Management (PSM) requirements. - Experience managing programs designed to prevent reactive chemical incidents.
