Job Description

The Position - The Site Health and Safety Manager will be responsible for enforcing the overall health and safety programs (policy and procedures) at the project-level for the WindConnect business unit. The H&S Manager will perform onsite inspection of all safety aspects of heavy construction in compliance of project health and safety programs and applicable regulations. Recommendations will be made to correct unsafe work practices, safety equipment, etc. and will have the authority to stop work upon observing unsafe conditions threatening life or property. Oversees H&S of RMT employees and indirectly advises subcontractor work forces.

Requirements -

-BS in an H&S and/or technical science-related field with 6 years directly related experience OR 10 years directly applicable experience in heavy construction projects with large volume of civil work (clearing and grubbing, road construction, excavation and trenching, concrete construction, tower erection experience a plus), high voltage electrical construction and testing, and critical lift and fall protection.

-MUST be well-educated with OSHA and other regulations applicable to construction work.

-OSHA 500 Certified.

-Excellent judgment; alert to hazardous situations; communicates to all levels of employees, subcontractors, client effectively.

-Will require travel and working at project sites away from home.

-Will require climbing, walking, standing, etc.

-Must have valid driver’s license and pass pre-employment drug screen.
