Job Objective: - Work with EHS Manager to continuously improve the Safety and Environmental performance of the site.
Essential Functions: - Assist with environmental program implementation (air emissions, storm water, RCRA hazardous waste, spill prevention, control, & countermeasures, etc.).
- Conduct ergonomics program activities.
- Collect IH samples and maintain organized IH database.
- Participate on the Emergency Response Team.
- Participate in site Process hazard analyses.
- Conduct and document job hazard analyses. Investigate appropriate PPE based upon hazards and maintain Job PPE Matrix.
- Participate in Department of Transportation/Federal Railroad Administration compliance training and program implementation.
- Conduct new employee EHS orientation training.
- Coordinate and implement compliance and training activities associated with general OSHA and other site EHS programs.
- Organize and develop: - annual SARA Tier II reports - annual TRI reports - annual RCRA Waste reports - draft report for annual Air Emissions Reports
- EHS training programs for both classroom and computer based training environments
- Conduct classroom training for EHS programs and EHS permit systems for both employees and contractors.
- Conduct site level EHS inspections. Document and track findings to completion.
- Conduct EHS training for contractors.
- Coordinate and conduct EHS investigations associated with site incidents and accidents. Implement root-cause analysis.
- Coordinate and assist with ERT training and response activities. Coordinate and participate in fire system inspections. Coordinate and conduct inventory, inspection, control and restoration of emergency response equipment. Coordinate inspection, calibration and maintenance of EHS instruments (i.e. noise dosimeter, gas monitors and etc.).
- Manage EHS bulletin Boards and safety-related area poster, signs, notices and directives.
- Maintain tact and equanimity when performing your role, ensuring EHS procedures and requirements are not compromised.
- Perform as a role model for EHS behaviors.
- Travel and participation in EHS activities at other sites may be required on an infrequent basis.
REQUIREMENTS: - Candidates should have minimum qualifications of a B.S. in a science, engineering, or related field of study, well developed mathematical skills, understanding of process equipment operation, and prior work experience in the chemical process industry or related industry.
- Must possess very good computer skills and demonstrate a working knowledge of Microsoft software, including Outlook, Excel, and Word.
- Must be able to pass the ERT HAZMAT Technician Level physical examination.
- Must demonstrate excellent communication (written and verbal), leadership, and interpersonal skills.
