Job Description
Our client, one of the top manufacturing companies in Iowa is looking for an EHS Manager. This position is accountable and responsible for ensuring the Environmental, Health, and Safety activities reduce risk, eliminate incidents, and are performed within external regulatory requirements and internal management guidelines.
Essential Job Functions Include:
- Responsible for the development, implementation, and documentation of EHS programs, policies, and procedures in accordance with Local, State, and Federal EPA and OSHA requirements.
- Responsible and accountable for the preparation, submission, and documentation of all EPA and OSHA Reporting Requirements, up to but not limited to OSHA 300 Log, Workmen Compensation, SARA 311, 312, and 313 Annual Reports, Title V reports, NPDES, Hazardous Waste Generators Annual Report, and Waste Minimization Reports.
- Responsible for accurate submission and completion of all incident reporting within designated deadlines and reporting process guidelines.
- Responsible for preparing and submitting all required monthly and quarterly performance index reports and metrics.
- Develops, conducts and supervises EHS Training, including external regulatory and internal management programs.
- Responsible for the approval and procurement of EHS functions such as Waste Characterization and Disposal, PPE, Industrial Hygiene, Noise Testing, Training Resources, and any other Environmental, Health, and Safety vendors as required.
- Responsible party for waste classification and characterization, preparation and signing of waste disposal manifests and documents including hazardous, non-hazardous, special, bio-hazard, and non-regulated waste in accordance with all external regulations and internal management procedures.
- Acquires and maintains accredited training needed in areas related to EHS for training, report submittal, and general awareness.
REQUIREMENTS: - A Four Year degree in Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, Safety or Business.
- A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in a high volume, unionized manufacturing environment.
- Strong communication, organizational, project management, presentation and customer service skills.
- Solid influential communication skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, leadership ability, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
