Job Description

Description

• Lead Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) programs at the Brighton, CO site, and other sites as assigned.

• Provide technical and regulatory expertise to ensure compliance, safe work places, and continuous improvement of EHS programs. Advise site management of compliance concerns.

• Provide strategic direction on EHS matters to the site leadership teams.

• Work with other EHS professionals within BASF to share programs, procedures, tools, and successfully demonstrated practices.

• Work with other EHS experts in the organization on development of company-wide processes and initiatives to ensure continuous improvement.

• Participate in project reviews to identify EHS issues / opportunities.

• Support the interface with regulatory agencies and third parties, as needed, on compliance and enforcement issues.

• Support implementation of the Responsible Care Management System.

• **NOTE: This position is located in Brighton, Colorado and may provide support to other locations in the Western US.

Qualifications

• BS degree in engineering, technical or science area strongly preferred. Candidates with other BS degrees will also be considered, if combined with excellent relevant experience and skills. BASF recognizes Institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent.

• 8 years or more of demonstrated experience in a manufacturing environment (preferably chemical manufacturing)

• Strong working knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety technology and regulations is required. Particular emphasis is placed on occupational safety expertise and experience. Other areas included industrial hygiene; process safety; air pollution controls and permitting; water pollution controls and permitting; solid and hazardous waste management; storm water pollution controls and permitting; and environmental health and safety management systems.

• Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision.
