The Safety Manager will use their strong technical industrial safety experience, interpersonal skills and passion to coach, teach, and mentor, develop/implement local and corporate tools, policies, and standards, and lead and help others to lead root cause investigations.
This is a high profile position, and the individual must be capable of working effectively with operating personnel as well as senior executives to lead change and influence the culture. The ideal candidate will draw on five years safety management experience in a manufacturing environment (preferable heavy industry). A Bachelors degree desired; safety or engineering preferred. Experience with behavior based safety and safety management systems, working knowledge of basic industrial hygiene principles, experience with root cause / failure analysis methodology and experience with an ISO is highly desirable. Strong change management and project implementation skills, demonstrated ability to influence all levels of the organization and ability to build consensus will lead to success.
This manager and champion will:
* Provide subject matter expertise; develop practical solutions to resolve safety issues * Manage workers' compensation claims and costs to completion * Lead the Clarksville Safety Committee * Interface with MSHA during plant inspections * Implement and maintain behavior based safety programs and a safety management system * Analyze data and conduct risk assessments
