Environmental Specialist – Air Quality/Permitting
U.S. Compliance currently has an opening for a senior-level Environmental Specialist in our Air Quality/Permitting Department. This individual will coordinate with in-house personnel to develop, grow and strengthen the Environmental Services Division, the Air Permitting Department and its client relationships. This individual is responsible for the department organization and the individuals within it.
The major duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
Client Service
Site Visits (travel required)
Site auditing
Manage and respond to regulatory issues
Regulatory Review
Research and interpret regulations and their potential impact
Departmental Support
Periodically assist in projects outside of Air Permitting
Provide input to develop procedures with a growing business
Participate in the ‘continual improvement’ program
Air Permitting
Client Process Information & Air Permit Assessments
Permit Applications
NESHAP Compliance
Emission Reports (Inventories)
Seasonal, Annual, Semi-Annual, and Quarterly Reports
In addition to air related work, the candidate will receive exposure to several areas within the environmental regulatory field with specific expectations to service within them. This position comes with future growth opportunities and is an excellent opportunity for the right individual.
Applicants should have a minimum of three to five (3-5) years of professional experience and a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a related environmental field (Master’s degree or professional certification desired). Strong oral and written communication skills, the ability to manage a diverse workload, enthusiasm for assisting clients with regulatory compliance, and strong computer skills (advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge) are all characteristics necessary to be successful in the position. Managerial experience is desired, but not required. Other desirable skills include general math, research, strong attention to detail, technical and problem solving skills.
