Job Description
Function Overview: " Support the implementation of The Company Safety and Security Management System focusing on continuous improvement " Develop and implement program that drives operational leadership accountability to ensure compliance with The Company requirements as well as applicable federal, state and local regulations " Drive execution of both strategic and tactical initiatives at the terminal level " Act as point of contact for Terminal Managers within position(s) of responsibility " Engage all levels of the organization in the safety process
Purpose: " Improve performance in all primary safety metrics " Improve overall Safety & Loss Prevention awareness and knowledge at all levels in the organization " Drive consistent implementation and execution of strategic and tactical initiatives " Drive improved regulatory compliance
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: " Contribute to tactical and strategic Safety and Security planning, including organizational rollout of these plans " Drive field execution of tactical and strategic initiatives " Delivery of Safety and Security training " Provide mentoring and technical guidance to Log Clerks (direct management responsibility) " Communicate terminal safety performance " Conduct trend analysis " Work with terminal management in the development of location-specific action plans " Drive operational ownership and accountability for safety performance " Establish and maintain effective working relationship with terminal management and owner operators " Conduct regulatory and procedural audits " Facilitate and participate in investigations " Execute Focus Account Strategy " Participate in award recognition events " Conduct Annual Performance Evaluations of staff
Qualifications: " BA/BS Degree in Occupational Safety & Health, Industrial Hygiene, Loss Prevention, Risk Management or related field required " 3+ years of direct field safety experience in managing employee/contractor Safety & Health, environmental and fleet safety management " Candidates possessing or in pursuit of any of the following certifications are preferred: Certified Safety Professional [CSP], Associate Safety Professional [ASP]
