Safety Manager Location: Cincinnati, OH Reference Code: 78-MH318 Position Description
Assist with all aspects the creation of the safety plan. Lead all aspects of job safety for the area of assigned responsibility. Partner with and drive frontline safety awareness and action planning through partnership with facilities, MU Leadership and BU Leadership identify actions needed to remediate issues to ensure compliance to company policies, Federal, State and Local regulations, related to safety. Ensure that a consistent safety message is driven at all levels of the organization through interaction with hourly employees, MU Leadership and BU Leadership. Serve as liaison with Risk Management, Claims Department, TPA, Outside Adjustors, Outside Counsel, etc. to both provide information needed, as well as receive suggestions and ideas for potential areas of improvement. Job Responsibilities
• As a member of the Safety Leadership Team, assist in the creation of the company safety plan. • Influence senior management to ensure full execution, communication and compliance with company safety plan and policies. • Create plan for implementation and execution of the company safety plan and policies. • Interact with governmental agencies, including but not limited to OSHA and DOT. • Create schedule of facility audits and ensure that Safety Specialists execute the audit schedule, as well as working with the facilities to create action plans for improvement. • Lead and develop the Safety Specialists. • Assist Safety Specialists with the implementation the facility program in designated facilities per company guidelines. Job Requirements
• Bachelors Degree required. Combination of minimum and preferred experience with some education will be considered. • Masters Degree is preferred. • 5 -7 years of Safety experience required. • 3 years experience managing people required. • Prior experience in manufacturing, DOT, bottling and multi unit experience a plus. • Experience in consumer products/related industry preferred. • Computer literate in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint required. • Must be willing to travel 35 – 50% of the time. • Strong Analytical Thinking (Strategic Thinking, Thinking Systematically, Problem Solving) • Strong Communication Skills (Listening, Speaking, Writing, Inquiring) • Strong Coaching (Motivating, Provide Feedback, Develop Others) • Strong Leadership (Visioning, Commitment, Decisive, Persuading, Influencing) • Certifications and Licenses: CSP, ARM preferred
