Job Description
Selected candidate will provide technical oversight for the implementation of the Jacobs Health, Safety, & Environment (HSE) program on a field construction or maintenance & operations project. Conduct various types of HSE training to project opersonnel. Participate in routine meetings to coordinate safety & health processes. Conduct routine field safety audits and provide technical expertise for identifying and resolving various issues involving equipment and process. Prepare weekly and monthly HSE reports, analysis of leading indicators, and recommendations for corrective actions. Respond to routine requests for information from HSE or Operations management. Participate in development of health and safety planning activities, including the preparation of the project Hazard Assessment Safety Action Plan. Conduct routine risk assessments. Interpret subcontractor metrics and make recommendations for approvals. Other duties may be specifically assigned by the Area or Senior HSE Manager. Minimum seven years of health, safety and environment experience is required. At least five years experience in the industrial construction industry and three years in petro-chemical (oil refineries) is also preferred. An HSE-related Bachelors degree may be substituted for two years of the non-construction experience. Computer literate. Knolwedge of OSHA General Industry and Construction Safety Orders. OSHA 500 training a plus. Basic knowledge of Industrial Hygiene principles a plus. An HSE related certification (e.g. CSP, WSO-CSM, or CHST) is also preferred, not required.
