Job Description
H&S Manager Pontiac Feb 2008Penske Logistics is seeking a Safety Professional to be based in the Pontiac/Flint Michigan area.
This safety professional will collaborate with operations personnel to integrate health and safety into all activities and decision making processes with a primary focus on:
Prevention of accidents and injuries Compliance with regulatory agencies and company policies Warehousing and Transportation - Tractor/Trailer 10 locations in Michigan, Kansas, Tennessee, and Canada 4 truck maintenance shops in Michigan
Requirements for the position include:
3 years safety experience - transportation and general industry Commitment to excellence and the safety profession Effective team building skills Effective written and verbal communication skills Comprehensive knowledge of basic safety management techniques Comprehensive knowledge of DOT and OSHA regulations/standards Ability to manage multiple projects, establish priorities, & accomplish objectives Proficiency with Microsoft products; Excel, PowerPoint, and Word Analytical and problem solving skills Travel - average 3 nights away per week - includes some weekends Bachelor's Degree – prefer a safety related degree Board Certified Safety Professional (CSP) preferred Some operations management experience preferred
