Job Description
The Opportunity - RMT, Inc. is a leading environmental, energy and engineering consulting firm in the country. We have been helping our clients solve their most difficult and diverse engineering and environmental challenges for over 30 years with a growing emphasis on renewable energy and sustainability. With nearly 700 employees in sixteen offices in the United States and two international locations, we invite you to join our Greenville, South Carolina staff of nearly 100 as an Environmental Process Engineer.
The Position: Provide mid-level technical support in the execution of work in the areas of environmental compliance, environmental reporting, process engineering and Process Safety Management for our industrial clients. The position may provide support of remediation, solid waste, energy or related environmental projects.
The Requirements: The motivated professional candidate will have 5 to 8 years of applicable experience, and a minimum of a BS degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering.
This position requires knowledge of a broad spectrum of environmental laws and regulations including, but not limited to the following: RCRA, CAA, CWA, TSCA, and EPCRA. In-plant experience with Process & Instrumentation Diagram (P&ID) development and review
Applied problem solving skills for in-plant assistance Must be able to work independently on small projects and assist project managers in coordinating/delegating work from other project staff on larger projects.
Must have strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and actively work on multiple projects. Must be able to provide assistance in Air Permitting, state and federal permit compliance, and NSPS and MACT compliance for a wide variety of industrial clients.
Must work efficiently with RMT staff and clients to meet regulatory requirements.
May require fieldwork away from home area.
Prior experience in a similar role in environmental consulting, industry or regulatory agency.
High degree of computer literacy (spreadsheets, word processing, databases)
Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; secondary languages are helpful.
Working knowledge of health and safety compliance a plus. Desire to learn from senior experienced personnel and to equate success with professional credibility established internally and with our clients.
