The Opportunity - RMT, a leading consulting engineering firm that provides a broad range of environmental management and engineering services to clients nationwide, is looking for a Senior Industrial Process Engineer to join the team of professionals in our Brookfield, Wisconsin office. Process engineering aims at the development and realization of innovative, sustainable processes and products, for our clients in the forest products, metals, and petrochemical industry segments. Process engineers play a key role in providing environmental, energy, and chemical technology improvements for our industrial clients. Process engineering requires practical experience in chemistry, heat transfer, combustion, and mechanics. The combination of engineering and sciences is the key to innovation and success. Modern process engineering relies on a combination of practical engineering experience, economics, experimental methods, and modeling to be successful.
The Position - The Industrial Process Engineer position will be as part of RMT’s industrial ventilation, air pollution control, and process engineering team, assisting clients in the development and implementation of innovative process improvements, work practices, and utilization changes to improve productivity, enhance process availability, conserve energy, or reduce the environmental footprint of their operations. Duties will include client development, program development, and the following engineering tasks:
The design, specification, startup, and troubleshooting of industrial ventilation systems for indoor air quality The design, specification, startup, and troubleshooting of air pollution control systems for ambient air quality Sustainable process design, including the selection or substitution of low-impact, durable, and/or renewable raw materials, energy efficiency improvements, design for reuse and recycling, and life-cycle analysis.
Requirements - Qualified candidates will possess a B.S. degree or higher in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, or related field and 10 or more years of related work experience. Candidates should have industry experience and strong problem solving, computer and communication skills. Interest and experience in sustainable process design and/or renewable fuels is a plus. Travel to field assignments up to 50% of the time is required.
