Job Description
HEALTH & SAFETY OFFICER -ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES- FT. LAUDERDALE, FL Our client is a leading environmental consulting and services firm employing nearly 700 in strategically located offices throughout the nation. For nearly a quarter-century the company has provided Petroleum, Manufacturing and Government clients with high-quality, cost-effective environmental solutions. Professional services include Phase I & II; due diligence; UST investigations; site remediation; site closure; and brownfields redevelopment. They seek a Health & Safety Specialist for the Ft. Lauderdale office to:

* Assure high standards of safety excellence in the prevention of accidents, incidents and events that could harm employees, property or the environment * Identify existing and potential hazards by implementing qualitative and quantitative analysis of sources, systems, activities and operations * Select appropriate safety controls including administrative controls (i.e. policies, procedures and plans) as well as engineered controls (i.e. forms of protection, safety barriers) * Provide safety training to staff and subcontractors * Analyze behavior-based safety within the organization and enhance relevant policies, procedures and systems * Perform safety audits and prepare and present reports for sites, offices, warehouses, etc. * Ensure compliance with OSHA and other federal, state, local and corporate requirements and regulations

Ideal candidate will hold degree(s) in Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or similar discipline(s) and related experience. Experience in Loss Prevention Systems helpful.
