Job Description

This role is involved with managing safety at the jobsite reporting directly to SPX EHS Specialist – Construction Safety and indirectly to the jobsite Superintendent. This individual will ensure that both company and client safety policies and governmental safety requirements are established and enforced on the job. The candidate will further ensure that all employees and subcontractors are properly trained and equipped to safely perform their respective assignments. In addition, this position assists in maintaining a jobsite that is in compliance with local and federal environmental requirements. The successful candidate will maintain a proactive environmental, health and safety initiative that involves all levels of employees and will incorporate a safety mindset into everyday activities. The Field Safety Supervisor will be responsible for the day to day activities associated with managing and supporting construction projects across North America at any given time. The incumbent is responsible for the planning, directing, and implementing tactical organizational environmental, health and safety initiatives in order to ensure a safe, healthy, and incident-free work environment on sites. The successful incumbent maintains good working relationships with all levels of personnel and will quickly respond to questions and/or concerns related to environmental and safety issues.
Education and Qualifications:
· Minimum of High School Graduate, prefer Associates Degree in Safety Management · 1-2 years of Heavy Industrial Construction experience · 2-4 years of safety experience desired · Computer skills in a Windows-based platform
