Job Description

The Position – The qualified Lead E-I-C Engineer will join our SmartBurn team and be responsible for assessing E-I-C long- and short-term needs to meet technical, business, and strategic needs of the organization. The leader will manage the E-I-C group by assigning projects, establishing and integrating work procedures, and QA/QC processes. In addition:

· Develop and lead integration of new E-I-C technology and methods.

· Create engineering proposals, specifications, requirements, and assist in estimates of related costs.

· Establish and track resource allocation and group/project performance metrics.

· Lead E-I-C engineering interface with other Smartburn departments and functions.

· Analyze client E-I-C systems and make recommendations for improvement and changes.

· Work with vendors on E-I-C specifications and issue resolution.

· Coordinate Outage/Construction support and supervision.

· Plan and execute testing-tuning and client unit optimization.

· Write and review periodic project updates and client reports.

The Requirements – Candidates must meet the following minimum requirements:

· B.S. in Chemical, Mechanical or Electrical engineering. An advanced degree is highly preferable.

· The ideal candidate should have 8-12 years experience with coal-fired power plant controls systems and a minimum of 2-4 years in a management role is preferred.

· Strong knowledge of distributed control systems is required, working knowledge of control system visualization software and/or neural network is desired.

· Working knowledge of electric and steam generation industry, plant operations and controls equipment and maintenance methods is desired.

· Strong leadership, facilitation and communications skills in a team environment are essential.

· Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and work in a diverse and fast-paced environment.

· Travel to plant sites up to 50%.
