Job Description
The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company has an immediate opening for a Health & Safety Manager for its Beaumont Chemical Complex.
The Health & Safety Manager ensures a safe and healthy work environment by developing and implementing policies and procedures, establishing a culture where no one gets hurt. This position is also responsible for leading on-site Health & Safety Coordinators and Emergency Response.
The candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene or a Technical field. Certification as a Safety Professional (CSP) is desired but not required.
The successful candidate should have the following skills and experience:
• 3-5 years experience working as a Safety Professional in a Petrochemical or industrial environment. • Knowledge of OSHA Health and Safety regulations. • Be able to lead the development and implementation of Health & Safety programs. • Possess a solid background of working with regulatory agencies and OSHA’s VPP process. • Strong planning, communicating, writing, and organization skills. • Operation of general health & safety equipment, basic computer skills. • Knowledgeable in behavioral safety techniques for managing at risk behaviors. • Familiar with ergonomics risk assessment and mitigation techniques. • Knowledgeable & experienced in conducting incident investigations using different problem solving methodologies. • Risk Assessment techniques, e.g., Job Safety Analysis (JSA), HAZOPS, fault-tree analysis, etc. • Familiar with the principles of industrial hygiene for recognition, evaluation and control of hazards such as chemical exposure, noise, radiation or biological hazards in the workplace. • Self-motivated and capable of managing multiple tasks • Must be lawfully authorized to work in the United States.
