Safety Management Group, a nationwide leader in the safety consulting, training and staffing industry, is accepting resumes for qualified construction safety specialists for a large refinery project in Northwest, Indiana.
Some of the typical duties Safety Advisors will perform include daily site safety observations including documentation of findings, facilitation of corrective measures when warranted, attendance at progress meetings, site safety orientations, and assistance with permitting requirements as needed.
Safety professionals selected for these positions will need to pass a security background check and substance abuse test in order gain access to the project site. Eyeglass wearers will need to have prescription safety glasses and will also be required to wear steel toed work boots while on site. FR clothing will also be a requirement for this work and will be supplied.
Candidates must possess a thorough knowledge of construction safety in an industrial setting and have a minimum of 3 years direct industrial safety management experience and refinery experience. In addition to experience, degrees in safety or related fields and certifications that may include the CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST are viewed favorably. Additional safety training that will be needed includes an OSHA 30-Hour Construction Course and first-aid/CPR certification from either the American Red Cross or the American Heart Association.
