Job Description

NOTE:  There is no relocation provided for this position located in the Oklahoma City area.  Please do not submit if not currently living in this geographical area

Scope of Responsibility:

Interface closely with Site Managers and Regional HSE Department staff

Management of multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously at single plant, manufacturing, location

Duties:

  • Preparation of quarterly or monthly HSE reports and presentations
  • Research safety and environmental regulations and provide support for compliance
  • Provide health and safety regulatory monitoring and tracking programs
  • Provide support for development of HSE Management systems
  • Develop HSE policies, standards and procedures based on regulatory and internal requirements
  • Conduct HSE benchmarking; internal and external to identify best practices
  • Behavior Based Safety program           
  • Support injury/illness recordkeeping & reporting
  • Coordinate Workers Compensation programs and process improvements                    
  • Safety committees and safety awareness programs                               
  • Ergonomics, LOTO, Machine Guarding, Electrical Safety and related safety programs.
  • Participate in job safety analyses                                                          
  • Review and advise on proper contractor safety
  • Conduct industrial hygiene survey including indoor air quality and hearing conservation  
  • Participate in root cause incident investigations and corrective action development and implementation
  • Assist in creation and delivery of HSE training programs
  • Conduct inspections and participate in HSE auditing

Environmental expertise:

  • Solid and hazardous waste management
  • Sustainable Processes/Recycling
  • Wastewater and storm water management, permitting and controls
  • Air emission management, permitting and controls
  • Pollution prevention and resource conservation

Required Education and Experience:

B.S. Degree in Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety or similar degree with 5+ years of  HSE experience in manufacturing industry required. 

Excellent written, verbal, organizational and communications skills are required.

The candidate must be comfortable working both independently and as part of a team, and in meeting tight deadlines when dictated by client schedules.
