 JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Environmental Engineer to join team in LA.

Primary responsibilities for this position would include:

• Provide technical (including engineering) advice and assistance to the our Chemical Plant using technical knowledge and experience to solve a variety of problems and assure/monitor facility adherence to company policy and applicable regulatory requirements, making sure all facilities protect human health, the environment and provide for sustainable compliance.
• Interface with regulatory agencies on behalf of the Company or business unit.
• Prepare regulatory submittals & notifications or coordinate their completion on behalf of the facility.
• Air and community right to know programs. 
• Other responsibilities would include:
  • Assistance for wastewater and waste programs.
  • Assist in review of proposed engineering/maintenance projects to understand and plan for potential waste and wastewaterSH&E implications.
  • Support incident response and management/reporting.
  • Participate in audits and/or conduct self-assessments.
  • Develop, manage, monitor & conduct enterprise SH&E training.
  • Assist operations with troubleshooting SH&E-related issues & support facility shutdowns
  • Review new chemicals and materials
  • Lead/support development of management system programs
  • Manage & provide data for sustainability reports
  • Ensure appropriate records are kept and maintained
  • Conduct assigned routine checks and monitoring
  • Assist other facilities as part of the SH&E SBS organization

REQUIREMENTS:

• The ideal candidate will possess a BS degree in engineering or a science discipline.
• 3 - 5 years of environmental experience in an industrial setting, with primary air permitting and compliance experience, (experience in Louisiana is preferred), strong written and oral communication skills, and the willingness to work in a manufacturing environment.
• Proven ability to work as a team member.
• Position may also require up to 20% travel.
