Linde is currently seeking a SHEQ Field Support Specialist to join the team in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work in partnership with assigned areas including; Supply, CES, Commercial Development, Markets, Life Gas, Electronics & Specialty gases, HYCO, National Operating Center, Warehouses, Business Offices and Packaged Gas to develop, implement, and sustain local SHEQ strategies, processes and standards.
  • Provide local SHEQ support to assist the business with developing, implementing and sustaining local SHEQ strategies, process, programs and standards, including behavioral SHEQ.
  • Conduct and assist with the development of formal SHEQ training, such as Hazard ID and Risk Assessment, Permit to Work, Lockout/Tagout, Incident Investigation and Analysis, Auditor training, Causal Tree Training, New Manager and CCM training and others to support business needs and SHEQ strategies.
  • Gains and maintains commitment to team and individual goals that support the SHEQ vision and supports the business strategy.
  • Helps identify and implement innovative systems, policies and processes that deliver high levels of service for our customers.
  • Plans and implements change initiatives, keeping self and others focused and motivated to achieve desired changes
  • Encourages employees to take pride in performing great, achieving goals and being part of a high performing organization
  • Responds quickly and effectively in dealing with customer feedback
  • Conduct and develop safety meeting topics to support business needs
  • Identify lessons learned from incidents and share throughout region and RBU
  • Coordinate and conduct local implementation and training on the RNA integrated management system
  • Lead and conduct integrated and focused management system audits
  • Influence the proper management of non-conformances within assigned business areas.
  • Assist the business with qualitative Risk Assessments of tasks, process changes, customer stations, application process and potential new business.
  • Trained and assist with Process Safety Management, Risk Management Process & HAZOPS
  • Assist sites in preparing for Responsible Care Certification and HQAA for Life Gas & provide continuous monitoring for compliance and improvement opportunities
  • Provide local assistance in carrying out incident investigation and analysis on safety incidents.
  • Support RNA SHEQ strategies by providing local facilitation, consultation, training and support. For example, IMSS, Behavioral SHEQ, EMOC, Changes to Management System, Incident Reporting, PTW, Contractor management, etc
  • Assist with special projects as required
  • Provide SHEQ update to management at business meetings
  • Support other Regions as required
  • Complete SHEQ training program
  • Attend professional development training to continually improve competence in SHEQ
  • Travel > 50%

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree required of Associated degree with 5 years of equivalent work experience (prefer Safety, Engineering or Chemistry discipline)
  • 3-7 years experience in Management Systems, ISO and Environmental compliance
  • Must have industrial gas experience
  • Minimum 3 years experience as an effective trainer
  • Minimum 3 years experience as an effective auditor
  • Knowledge of SHEQ processes, systems and tools
  • Knowledge of SHEQ regulatory requirements
  • Knowledge of industrial gas operations
  • Knowledge of Medical, Beverage, Kosher, NFS and Specialty Gas licensing
  • Certified in Process Safety Management (desired)
  • Certified in Process Hazard Analysis (desired)
  • Certified ISO 9001 Auditor/Lead Auditor
  • Certified in OSHA 510 New Construction Course (desired)
  • Ability to build effective working relationships across all levels of management
  • Excellent trainer & facilitator
  • Excellent communicator
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven influencing skills
  • Excellent computer literacy (ideally including Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, ACCESS, Net Meeting, Ability to quickly learn and adopt Linde LMS system and audit program )
  • Ability to achieve desired objectives with minimal/remote management oversight
  • Ability to develop and manage own schedule to achieve objectives
