Occupational and Environmental Safety and Health is one of the fastest growing fields in the country. The two-year OESM program is designed to provide practical training on occupational and environmental safety and health. The curriculum offers a broad background on safety and health program administration, workplace hazard recognition/evaluation/control, workers' compensation principles, hazardous chemical risk assessment, and environmental management.
Besides an Associate Degree in OESM, the program offers a Certificate of Achievement in Occupational and Environmental Safety Management.
Graduates from the OESM program are qualified to work as Occupational Safety and Health Inspectors, Safety Officers, and Environmental Technicians in governmental agencies, environmental consultant firms, construction companies, insurance companies, and other types of private industries.
The Occupational & Environmental Safety Management program's mission is to:
- Provide the community with affordable, flexible, and up-to-date training on occupational and environmental safety and health.
- Promote workplace health & safety and environmental protection through education and
training.
