The field of environmental health is composed of individuals whose vocational efforts are directed toward controlling environmental health hazards; preserving and improving environmental factors for the achievement of optimum health, safety, comfort, and well-being.

Various courses provide students with the educational background that is necessary for employment in regulatory agencies or industries concerned with environmental quality. The major includes both specialized courses in environmental public health, such as food and water sanitation, industrial hygiene, community health services, and related classes in the fields of biology, chemistry, physics, and mathematics.

Our accredited graduate Master of Science program provides advanced training for students to choose amongst several career opportunities including environmental managerial positions, such as plant safety managers, public health supervisors, environmental consultants, and state and federal regulators.
