The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences (EES) prepares
students to pursue a broad range of careers in academia, industry, government
and teaching, by providing them with educational training and the indoor and
outdoor opportunities to obtain a solid foundation in the Earth and
Environmental Sciences.
Earth and Environmental Sciences are interdisciplinary,
integrating principles of physics, chemistry, biology, and mathematics, as well
as quantitative and critical thinking skills, to address geological and
environmental issues related to the solid earth, the oceans, and the atmosphere.
To this end, the Department's programs and courses are designed to encompass a
broad spectrum of basic scientific disciplines.
